Double June, Double Heat, Double Action! —SURTEC Earth Squad Keeps Sweating for Keelung’s Coast!

It’s already October, yet SURTEC’s Earth Squad is still sweating it out! As Mid-Autumn approaches, it’s hard to believe just how hot it still is this year.
The reason? 2025 has two lunar sixth months, a “bonus summer” of sorts. On top of that, it’s the Year of the Snake (Yi-Si) — a rare combination that only happens about once every 19 years. According to folklore, a “Snake Year with a leap sixth month” is unusually hot, symbolizing extra energy and vitality.
No wonder on October 3, during our green mission, the sun showed no mercy! Just before the long weekend, SURTEC Earth Squad assembled once again, this time right on our home turf — Dawulun Beach in Keelung! No seaside beer or gentle evening breezes this time, just gloves, grabbers, and loads of positive energy.

Keelung’s coastline is mostly rocky, but Dawulun Beach is the only natural sandy beach — a favorite among locals and a magnet for visitors. Summer crowds are always huge, and with that comes litter and marine debris challenges.
As a Keelung-based manufacturer, protecting our hometown coast is both our responsibility and our pride. Dawulun Beach is normally super chill, but keeping it beautiful is no easy task! Under the bright morning sun, our team picked up bottles, stepped through waves, and laughed while cleaning, proving that sustainability isn’t just a slogan — it’s action.
Choosing a local cleanup isn’t just convenient — it’s also a great way to reduce our carbon footprint. Not only is the distance short, but by carpooling together, we further cut emissions, with the bonus of breathtaking Keelung scenery — the perfect combo! Extending summer also means extending our green mission.
At SURTEC, we care about more than just making products — we care about every step toward sustainability. The next mission? Not announced yet — but the Earth Squad is always online. Stay tuned! For more info, please visit the SURTEC Sustainability Page.
